Opsware Strategic Alliances

Cisco, EDS, and Nortel are three of the most respected companies in the industry. After extensive research on their part, they chose to enter into strategic alliances with Opsware. A win-win for all, these alliances are extending the reach and scope of our data automation solutions.

From providing best-of-breed solutions for compliance and patch management, to improving efficiency for tens of thousands of servers, to technology collaboration and more, Opsware works with strategic partners in a number of ways to extend the reach of Opsware System 6 Product—one of the industry’s only integrated solutions for comprehensive Data Center Automation.

Cisco Alliance In February 2006, Opsware announced a worldwide distribution agreement with Cisco, the worldwide leader in networking for the Internet. Under terms of the agreement, Cisco will distribute Opsware’s award-winning Network Automation System under the Cisco Systems brand. In addition, we are also collaborating with the Cisco Network Technology Management Group on advanced network management solutions built on Opsware’s Network Automation System.

For Cisco, this partnership enables them to offer a network automation solution that can automate management of large, heterogeneous network infrastructures and is not restricted to just Cisco devices.

For Opsware, the alliance with Cisco allows us to reach a much broader audience, and provides a strong upsell opportunity for Opsware’s flagship product, the Opsware Server Automation System.

EDS Alliance Under terms of our EDS Alliance, Opsware is working with this industry giant to reduce its operational costs and improve efficiencies for the ten of thousands of servers that EDS manages in its hosting and outsourcing business. EDS is a leading global technology services company, and pioneered the information technology outsourcing industry more than 40 years ago.

EDS has already deployed the Opsware System in data centers across North America and Europe. Data center automation is a key component of EDS’ Agile Enterprise platform—a network-based utility architecture built in collaboration with its partners. EDS data centers using Opsware software benefit from complete automation of operations including server provisioning, system configuration, patching, disaster recovery, and configuration management.

Nortel Alliance With customers in more than 150 countries, Nortel’s next-generation technologies, for both service providers and enterprises, span access and core networks, support multimedia and business-critical applications, and help eliminate today’s barriers to efficiency, speed and performance by simplifying networks and connecting people with information.

With this in mind, and recognizing the importance of security in today’s IT environment, Nortel and Opsware are working together to provide best-of-breed solutions that are designed to provide global patch management and compliance to Nortel partners and customers. In fact, Nortel has chosen Opsware’s Network Automation System as the foundation that enables its partners and customers to automate best practices and standards.
